Location
Bilbao is the capital of the province of Bizkaia, which with Álava and Gipuzkoa form the Autonomous Comunity of the Basque Country – Euskadi, located on the east side of the Cantabrian Coast.
Bilbao is the largest city in Euskadi, 19 m above sea level, and sits in a narrow valley crossed by the Nervión river, which joins the sea at the Abra bay.
