Euskera, the local language
Euskera is a non-Indoeuropean language, mainly spoken in the Basque Country
or Euskal Herria. Its area of influence covers three different administrative
regions: in Spain, it is spoken in Euskadi and Navarra, and in France, in parts
of the Atlantic Pyrenees department.
Euskaltzaindia, the Royal Academy of the Basque Language, is the official body
in charge of its support, protection, and research.
