Door to the North
Bilbao´s strategic location and excellent communications, make it and ideal point of entry to the whole of the north of the Iberian Peninsula and southwest France.

The city is a connection hub to roads, motorways and railroads that join Europe with the rest of Spain and Portugal.

The airport, by architect Santiago Calatrava, is located just 6 Km from the city, and offers regular flights to many European capitals. By sea, the "Pride of Bilbao" ferry joins Bilbao and Portsmouth (UK) twice a week.

In terms of inner transport, the city itself offers an efficient bus service, a modern Metro designed by Norman Foster, and a recently inaugurated tramway service.

In addition, there are plenty of options for car and van hire; a convenient way of visiting other near-by regions.
