Inland
Equally inviting as the coast are the inland areas. Bizkaia is a rugged terrain, with several mountain ranges crossing it north to south. This landscape of green valleys, isolated farms, and rivers is set against steep but fairly low mountains (not more than 1,000 meters high). And these sights are less than an hour away from Bilbao, in nature reserves like Gorbeia and Urkiola, or Peñas de Ranero and Montes de Ordunte. There are also towns worthy of a visit: Orduña and its spectacular views, or the monumental Elorrio are located in captivating valleys, full of myths, legends and millenary traditions.
