San Cristóbal (Busturia)
Actually a sand bank, most of the beach disappears at high tide. Note: in terms of the tide, all beaches in the Mundaka/Gernika area are safe, and enjoyed by thousands of visitors every year, however, a degree of caution and common sense should be applied.

Kanalape (Gautegiz de Arteaga)
Within the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve, it is 300 m long, with calm waters, ideal for canoeing, sailing and windsurf.

At the mouth of the Gernika river, it offers excellent views of the area; again, its size varies tremendously with the changing tides.

Playa de Laga
Although windy and with strong waves, the massive Ogoño rock, reaching right down to the beach, makes Laga one of the most beautiful beaches of the Basque coast.

By Lekeitio´s port, this is a nice medium sized beach, in a beautiful setting in front of San Nicolás island. With dressing rooms, its calm waters are ideal for sailing, canoeing and scuba diving.

Playa de Karraspio
Although in Mendexa, it is right next to Lekeitio. Also with views of the island and calm waters. It holds beach football matches.
