Bilbao offers a wide range of options, whether in the arts, culture or entertainment. Its many public spaces (squares, walks, and pedestrian streets) are an invitation to discover the city on foot. There is a busy cultural programme throughout the year in opera, classical music, theatre, dance, film and pop music festivals. The latest trends are present in the large number of shops – ranging from fashion shops and art galleries, to furniture and design shops, and sophisticated delicatessen. Special mention must go to the cultural and entertainment shows for all ages held during Carnival, Christmas and Semana Grande.
