Ituren and Zubieta carnivals
This medieval carnival is truly spectacular in its simplicity. It is jointly
celebrated by these two Navarran villages on the last Sunday in January. About
20 men leave Zubieta playing large cowbells carried on their backs, and screaming.
Half way to Ituren, the locals join the procession. The next day the reverse
trip is made.
