It hosts the opera season of ABAO, the local opera association, and has two
resident orchestras: the Orquesta Sinfónica de Bilbao and the Orquesta
Sinfónica de Euskadi. In addition it often hosts dance events and pop
music concerts.

Sala Bilborock-La Merced
Located in what used to be La Merced convent, Bilborock has become an active
cultural venue, holding a wide variety of events. It is the venue for the
City of Bilbao Pop-Rock European competition, as well as for Zinegoak, the
gay cinema festival.

Kafe Antzokia
This is the most important venue for Basque language events, in addition to
regularly hosting national and international rock concerts. It has a friendly
